Northern region Christmas AGM
The last stop for our tour around Britain this year was the picturesque town of Ripon, situated in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Ripon has for a long time been a regional centre for our business activities and as such Keyo is a well respected name in the town. This year was set to be our most ambitious to date with a delegate list of over 120 people.
The teams attending where from numerous locations as, unfortunately, this year the Brigg venue had been lost. The areas attending included Pontefract, Middlesbrough, Rotherham and Driffield.
This year we were particularly pleased to see the guys from K8 and K2 after their bad luck by being involved in two very serious road traffic accidents. The ever-present danger of travelling thousands of miles a year usually in the dark, often in bad weather and always with a deadline to meet is a huge responsibility for the driver and not one taken lightly. So, it must have seemed very harsh judgement indeed that some of the guys involved in the first accident, were also in the second accident less than a month later.
However, two things which shone through were despite the terrible injuries inflicted by seat belts, not wearing them could have resulted in very grave consequences. Secondly it is a massive tribute to the true grit of all the injured that not only were they all well on the road to recovery, but most where back at work, even the man trapped in the washing basket!
